To those who are fans of Net Neutrality, and surrounding issues, such as DRM and the limiting of our rights, it may come as no surprise that Microsoft continues to champion against our rights of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press.

On October 14th, The US Patent Office granted Microsoft a patent to new technology that automatically censors unwanted speech, either by automatically producing a beep or otherwise distorting it to make the sounds inaudible.

If you were upset about the government telling independent radios and your favorite press medium what it could and could not say, now imagine Microsoft now having a say in it!

I wonder how long until “Linux” will get automatic beeps.
