One of the best things Red Hat has done for Fedora recently (among many, many great things) is to release Core to the community. The community basically wholly took over the project, although Red Hat employees are still involved throughout.
Novell has followed Red Hat’s lead now with OpenSuSE in allowing non-Novell employees serve on it’s board (as Fedora does). This new shift obviously allows more control of the project to the community.
I wish the OpenSuSE community well and a congratulations!
